There be snow... on the ground. Actual snow on the ground here in College Station, Texas. Now, it's not the first time. My first winter here in '97 we had an ice storm that basically shut down the twin cities for days. That was ice. This is snow. And it's snowed about once a year since I've been down here. Blink and ya miss it snow that most people sleep through in the wee hours of the morning that you only hear about on the news. But right now, there's actual snow on the ground. I crunched when I walked. Hee!

Made me friggin' homesick.

And randomly, I get the Creation Entertainment Supernatural newsletter, and last night while I was at work I got one that said Gold Tickets and Jensen photo ops were sold out for Chicago '09. They haven't even been on sale a month, people. And at the time Jared and duo ops were nearing sell out. Now I see those are sold out, too. While at first I was kinda, woohoo! you go boy, I can't help but think the more this keeps happening and the faster these things sell out, the less chance I'll ever have of doing it again. I mean, as it is now, they keep raising the prices every time and selling out faster. They basically have a license to charge anything they want, which means people like me will never be able to afford it more than once. It's basically a monopoly, because even though there's EyeCon, a few people I've talked to have said they don't believe Jensen would ever, EVER do an Eyecon because of the lax security. I don't know that to be true, but I can believe it. Free enterprise is wonderful for Creation Entertainment, but I figure there's maybe a year and a half left of these things. I don't imagine they'll do it again after Supernatural is done. They'll be on to bigger and better things.

Sigh. Some people have a maternal clock. I have a grope-meter. The opportunities to grope (not that I ever would) be dwindling. I'm an ugly, jealous girl.

I talked to my sister, who happened to work at the same restaurant I worked at while I was in college, and she became friends with a couple of people I used to work with. When she told them she was my sister, they said I was the coolest person ever. Me.

I want to know what happened to me. I wanna be cool again. *pfft*

I'm with you as far as the cons go - I couldn't believe that Chicago '09 was almost sold out now, because the gold tickets for '08 didn't sell out until...May or something. At this point, it looks like my only chance to see the boys will be LA 2010, if that happens (which I assume it will if Show gets a season 5), but it's all a question of being able to afford the whole expensive package and to convince my incredibly reluctant friend to come with me. -.-

I don't blame Jensen for not wanting to go to a con with lax security, though, after what happened to him at Asylum that one year.

Haha, I'm thinking the same thing. LA 2010 if ever! Seems like forever away, and they might all be sick of doin' 'em by then.

So far, just the Gold tickets are sold out for Chicago, but so are the photos, and that's the main draw. Unless you're going to do a ton of cons and can afford to miss a photo hear and there, it's like the only real proof you have that you were even there. Ah well, it was nice to go once. I shouldn't complain. But damn, I wish they'd gotten Misha this time around.

And I don't know for sure what EyeCon security is like, so it could just be hearsay. I don't wanna give the wrong impression or anything.

Just curious..were people who hadn't bought tickets yet able to purchase photo ops?

Cause if only gold were on sale are they gonna be able to shift the other tickets if there are no photo ops left.

It's kinda crazy that it's so far in advance!

I'd love to be able to go, can't see them both doing one over here :-(

Yeah. I think that's part of the problem. A lot of the people couldn't afford gold tickets but could afford the photo ops and bought those instead, because Creation really hasn't been cracking down on the resale of tickets at all, so even if you end up not going to the con, the ticket will sell. Of course, if you have a con ticket and no photo op ticket, you'll probably end up paying about as much for the resold photo as the original con ticket. LOL.

I'd do it, though. If I had the cash on hand and they announced LA 2010, I'd totally snag photo and just hope the con ticket became a possibility. Haha.

And you never know. I mean, they're doing Australia. Maybe they'll do one in your neck of the woods next.

Huh. Well, so much for that. I had this teeny tiny hope that if I actually make it to the States with the stupid scholarship I'm gonna be in the general vicinity of Chicago and could go, but I guess that's out now either way. No use going there if everything worth going for's sold out. =P I still don't get why they confirmed a year in advance anyway. =(

And the problem with the "year in advance" thing is that sometimes they don't make it. I went to Dallas last summer mainly to see Jensen and he didn't show.

I know they had already more than half sold out of the gold tickets before this year's con was even over, and I know a ton of people were buying photo ops instead of gold tickets, just in case, you know? So, I knew next year was out. Though, to be honest, I hear it was one of the crappier hotels they 've been in. I was not overly impressed with the whole thing. Maybe we should both pray for an LA 2010, eh?

Also, I think they were selling tickets for this year's Chicago at last year's, too, but the whole con thing didn't really catch on until after the vids and whatnot from that con started making the rounds. I think this year, it was just kinda, the thing to do. And last year, when they announced, they didn't announce any guests. I know, I would've bought tickets for Chicago instead of Dallas if they'd actually announced any guests, but they didn't announce Jensen and Jared until like, the day Jensen cancelled Dallas. So, yeah, they be teasing us.

Evil, evil people... who I'd still throw my money at if I had money to throw. LOL.

I've been following that crap, too. It shits me. As a matter of fact, I missed out on the photo ops for the con my daughter and I are actually attending in LA in March. We'll have to make do with the autograph time. And man, they really jacked up the prices for the photos for Chicago, too. I knew we probably couldn't go next November, but I may make one more try if they do another one in LA next spring, since I agree with you--our opportunities to grope see these boys in person are fast running out. It's a ridiculous amount of money I shouldn't be spending. We're obviously insane.

Haha, I have a feeling if they do announce an LA 2010, the tickets will be sold out before LA 2009 is over. The only way I'd stand a chance of scoring a photo op then would be if they'd only sell photos to people who bought tickets, and you know that'll never happen. So, I'm pretty much screwed, not that I'd scrape together the money anyhow. I tell you, times like this, i wonder why we didn't just move into my mother-in-law's house when she died instead of letting our friends move in rent fee. *headdesk*

As for the grope meter, well, I'll never outgrow wanting to grope 'em, but methinks the opportunities to do it in person (and how the hell to do it vicariously with any satisfaction is beyond me) are dwindling, dwindling, dwindling. There's a definite tick-tock somewhere in my ovaries, and it ain't the baby I'm supposed to want, LOL.

I'm ugly for being jealous, and for you to be uglier than me, you'd have to actually be willing to mug fangirls at the airport and steal their tickets, LOL. I could probably afford a plane ticket, just gotta end up in the right airport at the right time... bound to be some fangirl I'd recognize, LOL.

Y'know what's really sad? I have a friend from Germany that I used to beta for a couple years ago, and she still keeps in touch, and when I changed my Dallas ticket to Chicago, she got on the phone with her daddy's credit card and bought gold pass, all the photo ops, and booked a room without thinking twice. I love her, but it's stuff like that that just make me think there's no God, or I'm the one with demon blood in me. *shakes head*

I've long ago given up trying to find some rationale for why I seem to be on the receiving end of fate... so to combat that- ( this is the whole if you cant beat em - join em line of thought) - I've decided to embrace my dark side...

After all- there arent any fluffy angel wings in my future- and I kinda figure - wth... better a prince in hell than servent in heaven? There's certainly less pressure to perform or live up to a standard that way... LOL!

and yeah- watching some of those people at the con drop 400-500 dollars on some of those banners- I'm like- wtf? Maybe Creation should post a warning on their website "the NOT independantly wealthy - need not attend..."

I am surprised at how fast Chicago sold out considering that was my least favorite con of the year and was not worth the money.
Save your money for LA. I'm sure they'll have another one and tickets will go on sale right around tax refund time.
What kind of annoys me about these cons are the photo ops. I think that they should be limited to ticket holders and limited in quantity. Don't let the rich, crazy old ladies buy 8 photo ops before everybody gets a chance. Be fair. And fellow fangirls should be kind and not hog.
