This is just a quick report, because I'm tired, and I'm going to take a nap before I write up a full report. But here it is:
I ran 10k, which is 6.2 miles. My tier of goal were as follows:
Goal 1) Run the entire race.
Accomplished. I did walk about fifty feet at each water stop just to keep the water from sloshing all over, but that's to be expected, and I don't think it affected my overall time very much.
Goal 2) Come in at around 1hour 10mins. (About an 11min/mile pace) I've mostly been training at around 12:00min/mile, and only within the last month have I stepped it up. I thought I might could run a 10:00 pace for the course, but I had no idea what the course was like or what race nerves would do to me, so I aimed for around 11:00min/mile. And no, that's not fast. LOL.
Goal 3) If it turned out I felt like I could run faster, I'd like to come in under 1h 5 mins.
Goal 4) Pie in the sky, if they spike the water with metachlorians and I run the race on Jedi mind power alone, come in under 1hour. (Still not fast. The fastest male came in at 37minutes! Fastest woman was something like 42minutes.)
My time: 1hour, 02 minutes, 40 seconds.
So, Yay!
I also won a door prize. Since it was a run through the vineyard at the Mesina Hof Winery, I got a bottle of sparkling grape juice. LOL. Actually, some other dude won it, but he already left, so they re-drew. Go me!

Date: 2010-04-18 06:07 am (UTC)LOL 11min/mile might not be fast to you, but I ran a mile (because the machine hates metric apparently) in 17 minutes on the treadmill today and I was DYING.
Can't wait to see the pics!
