Quick Question...
May. 23rd, 2009 03:19 amAnybody have Rough Draft and Windows Vista? Are the two compatible?
I'm going computer shopping today and everything has Vista unless I wanna fork over for XP downgrade. I would hate if Rough Draft didn't work, but I guess sacrifices... *ponders*

Date: 2009-05-23 08:55 am (UTC)I'd just hate to pay for a downgrade and then have XP become obsolete. What really bugs me is I have the XP discs that came with my current computer but they put the certificate on a little sticker and didn't attach it to a computer. I highly doubt that I can still find that stupid little sticker after all these years.

Date: 2009-05-23 08:39 am (UTC)I was lucky enough to get a Windows XP Laptop last year, from a small Computer Company in a town near by.
Because, no way I`m going to use Vista. Non of my main programs would work just like that with Vista, I`d need to get an upgrade for each. If there is any Vista Upgrade that is.
And before I do so, and burdon myself with Vista on top, I`ll buy a Mac.

Date: 2009-05-23 08:59 am (UTC)I'm just hoping I don't end up fighting with Vista and then have Windows 7 come out at the end of this year and end up going to that instead.
If I didn't have to get a new computer right now, I'd probably wait for Windows 7 and avoid Vista, but that's all based on word of mouth from people who got Vista when it first came out. I'm hearing its much better now.

Date: 2009-05-23 10:19 am (UTC)Anyway I bought my computer without OS and installed XP afterwards :D
Or you could wait for Windows 7. It's supposed to be much better than Vista.

Date: 2009-05-23 12:56 pm (UTC)But basically the support for premium is better. And Home Basic is left to be buggier.
Everyone I know with Basic is miserable, everyone I know with Premium is happy. :D
(DAMMIT I was just thinking I need an icon of yellow-shirt Sam! LOL!)

Date: 2009-05-23 01:07 pm (UTC)Good to know, because I'm kinda hovering around three options, and two have home basic and one has home premium. The one with home premium, is of course, the most expensive, but it's supposed to run slower because it has an AMD processor instead of Intel. To be honest, though, my comp has been crawling along at a snail's pace for so long, just about anything's gonna end up feeling like a zephyr.
But if I get the one with home premium, I'mma have to wait to buy a router, cuz I know can afford both. LOL. Decisions, decisions.

Date: 2009-05-23 07:50 pm (UTC)I think the thing I hate the most is the way they have the folders set up, but I pretty much avoid it because I have everything on my external hard drive including My Documents folder, so I just bypass Vista's folders completely.
I'm sure your programs and whatnot will work. I haven't had any program problems on Vista. And I use a few really old programs from the 90s and everything works.
