And being a farm girl, I still think Artificial Insemination every time I see American Idol abbreviated that way. :/

I don't want to be all whiny and bitter, since both the boys seem happy, but I'm done with American Idol. The last one I picked was Carrie Underwood, so apparently I'm no judge of talent and doomed to be disappointed and betrayed by America every single year. LOL.

But honestly, if the only way for someone to win that show is for each voter to vote 3 to five thousand times on finale night, that's not a talent competition anymore.

Unless they're willing to buy three to five thousand copies of the album, the votes mean nothing.

That's just my opinion. And I've heard the argument that there's no way to fix the voting system, but I also don't have to watch the fail keep failing.

/emo Tracy.

Aww, c'mon guys. I've been watching the show since the very first episode, back when I was actually an age where I could've tried out if I wanted to. It's the end of an era for me. I'm allowed a day or two of sad, methinks. Do not be rolling your wee eyes at me, or there will be no porns for you.

Oh, and I might have signed up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_meanttobe. Like I needed another prompt challenge considering I never even started my Disney one and still haven't finished the Overboard one. LOL. But when I see a prompt I like, I get grabby. Sue me.

58. A Soldier Caged

He'd lost blood and comrades on the world's battlefields, but neither compared to losing his memory. Waking up in a secret military bunker, drugged, with vague images of a mission gone bad, Jonah had nowhere to turn. Until help came in the form of the one woman he'd always remember....

Psychologist Sophia Rhodes never got over the bad boy who'd stolen her good-girl heart a decade ago. But without military training, how could she possibly steal Jonah from a high-security facility? She had only one hope--that he'd never forgotten her, either. Sophia knew the breakout was the easy part. Somehow she had to help Jonah focus his hazy images--before a desperate man made sure he'd never remember....

lol, I see AI and I think Artificial Intelligence.

Yay for [livejournal.com profile] spn_meanttobe! I'm very excited! And your prompt sounds great.

Haha, see we farm girls are a unique breed of geek. LOL. We get the best inside jokes. Bwahahahaha!

I'm hoping I actually write this prompt. I'm inspired by it, but yeah, also already writing plenty of other inspirations. *slaps self stupid*

LOL I can't help rolling my eyes but only in a VERY LOVING way. You are utterly entitled to your emo. I quit watching AI early this season, something random and now forgotten pissed me off and I gave up on it!

AI = artificial intelligence to me. But perhaps that's 'cause I'm reading cyberpunk fiction at the moment. Oh, hush, I need something to rest my brain right now and cyberpunk is it.

ETA: whenever I see someone is listening to Regina Spektor is makes me SO STUPIDLY HAPPY. I love her so much and also, coincidentally, I've been wearing my Regina concert t-shirt today!

NO PORNS FOR YOU! And while I'm at it, "Off with your head!"

I rarely give up on anything. I'm usually the one sobbing in my cheerios when they get yanked out from under me. Sigh.

Hah, you should've grown up on a farm. AI can only ever mean one thing when you learn it that way. Haha.

Fail LJ is not sending me notifications. And here I thought no one loved me.

LOL, I've never listened to Regina Spektor before in my life. Was just playing the soundtrack from Doors of Time by [livejournal.com profile] felisblanco which I've had downloaded forever and never listened to, and whattaya know, the Firefox Addon thingie actually did it's thingie, cuz I had no idea what I was listening to, and I never fill in the current music thingie.

LJ isn't sending me notifications either. Glad I'm not the only one!

Regina is just... she's awesome. Graceful, beautiful, talented and charming. When she came to my home city she said, "I've heard you'll like it if I call you Birminghamsters," and giggled like a little girl. So cute!!!

Okay, okay, I will stop fangirling now. Argh. REGINA! \o/ I highly suggest you listen to lots of her music. She's right up there with Vienna Teng as one of my favourite female singers.

See in my opinion, AI was never a talent competition, it's a popularity contest.

That will happen every time you allow the "audience" to vote.

I've never been a fan of the show...but I do end up enjoying some of the singers who come from it like Daughtry or Kelly Clarkson....and this season, what little I've seen...I think I'll enjoy Kris Allen's stuff...I like his voice and I'm interested in seeing what Adam can do without the restraints of the AI contract...much like Daughtry.

But it's not even audience voting. Apparently 38 million votes came out of Arkansas, a state with only a population of 3 million. There's no way every person voted ten million times. That's machine voting, and there's no way that's okay.

Yeah, of all the former contestants, I follow Kelly, Carrie, and Chris. The rest never appealed to me.

There's the flaw in it's voting...everyone who votes can vote REPEATEDLY and people have made electronic voting devices that call the numbers over and over and over.....so like I said...it's a popularity contest not a talent one.

I don't really like country so that's why I only ever follow Kelly and Chris...OH! and David Cook...forgot about him...I like his voice.

I don't watch AI at all, but I LOL'd at the 38 million votes coming out of a state with a population of 3 mil. You'd think they'd get the hint that maybe something was amiss with that kind of discrepancy :D

Ya'd think, right? But even if they know, which they must, they don't have rules against it. So, what's the point? I mean, my phone batter dies after ten minutes, so if I'm lucky, I might make it through one time, which would be fine if that meant anything at all. Sigh.

I haven't liked American Idol since it started. Besides the fact that my shows are always pre-empted because "OMG! we have to vote nao!" but also because it's a crap way to pick talent.

I've always watched it, mostly because I always felt like I could outsing most of the competitors, so it made me feel a little less worthless. LOL. But yeah. I won't be watching anymore. Constraints of the contract or not, there's no point competing if the best man doesn't win. :/

Oh, I hate you. :-p Because seeing your post, I realized it is the new harlequin challenge and I immediately hopped on over to claim a prompt too, even though I have no tiiiiiiime.

I feel you on the Idol thing, not watching it because I don't like casting shows much but - to prove myself a liar - I'm at this moment watching the Finale of Germany's Next Top Model and I have no hope that my favourite will win.

LOL. I forgot all about the claiming, and when I woke up and saw the post, I was kicking myself. But I think I got a good one. Now if only we can find the tiiiiimmeee. We are pathetic.

Also, 38 million votes from a state with a population of only 3 million? Over ten million votes a person? How can they even count that? Stupid is stupid. That is all.

I might have signed up too. This prompt sounds exciting! Who's your psychologist? Hmmm?

LOL, Jared's the psychologist, among other things. I think he's a lifer in the halls of education. And I'm totally taking futuristic sci-fi spin on it. *trembles with excitement*

And the first time I saw AI my thoughts when to that Will Smith movie :))

This is the only season I've ever watched all the way through, and it was because of the amazing Adam Lambert. I won't be back either.
