Going Out of Business Clearance Sale (AKA Comment Fic Prompt Post)

Just what the title says. I have a ton of docs open on my desktop, but my writing brain seems to be broken. All of them are long and complicated, unwieldy and just friggin' scary. I'm just flat out stuck. Plus I keep running circles in my head over whether or not to move back to Wisconsin. I have gone so far as to request money from my 401k and start looking for a more reliable vehicle that can actually, y'know, drive 1200 miles without breaking down in a smoking heap. In short, I'm kinda petrified, and I need distractions.

I know I've asked for prompts before and only a handful got written, but before I close out all the fic in this journal, I thought I might try to re-discover what it was like to write something for fun, just because.

So, as long as you won't be too disappointed if I don't write yours, I'm taking any and all prompts. J2, SPN, anything that doesn't specifically have to do with Seasons 5 or 6. I'm looking for comment fic or drabble length. Gen, slash, het, h/c, PWP, anything goes.

As soon as I post this, I'm going to bed, and then I'm going to sleep, and then I'm going to wake up, eat more than anyone my size should be able to put away, and probably sleep some more. So, nothing will happen before tomorrow, I don't think. But you never know.

hi... How about...

1. Jared and Jensen sneaking into a movie theatre to see "supernatural: the movie" in disguise because they don't want to be recognised.

2. Jensen, high on gas as he's given a lift home after the dentist. Kind of like the video of that kid that's available on YouTube.

3. Dean desperately trying to hide the fact that he's taken up knitting. It calms him, it saves money ... But he's embarrassed as it's not very macho.

4. Wee!Sam going to the mall with friends one Christmas and discovering Dean has the embarrassing job of Santa's elf ... he's even in hoes. ( not surer what you'd call them, I'd call them tights)

5. Dean makes the ultimate sacrifice and disguises the impala by painting her another colour. Dean frets and
moans so Sam makes him change her back to black because it's driving him insane.

How's that for a start?

Haha, I might be able to come up with something for 3 and 4. One crack and one angst. I'll see what happens. At the moment I'm stuck inventing a monster affliction. Muse does what muse wants to do, I guess.

Hmm, well, I only ever write HEA fic. Though, it's hard to make it a satisfying happy ending without a huge buildup of angst to get there and that's hard to do in a short fic, but I accept the challenge. I'll let you know when I come up with something.

Hmmm, one of the Winchester boys is schizophrenic but FUNCTIONALLY schizophrenic (like the vast majority of people diagnosed with schizophrenia are). Maybe he needs to be hospitalized every once in a blue moon to tweak his meds, maybe his brother is his touchstone (e.g., "no, you don't have surveillance equipment implanted in your teeth...but the feds are actually after us"), whatever you may or may not feel inclined to try.

It'd be great if it was just the Winchesters (can be pre-series or whenever) hunting things but one has schizophrenia (of any sort, positive symptoms, negative symptoms, delusional, etc) and the monsters are real (not delusions or hallucinations).

Involved prompt is involved! Anyway, I hope someone's prompt tickles you pink enough to feel the writing mojo.

As much as I love you and your twisted, twisted mind, I have no idea how to do just to a schizophrenia storyline. But if I ever do one, I'll be sure to poke you and let you know.

On another note, what exactly is your icon? I'm looking for an 'off the beaten path' kind of monster to use in a storyline, and everything keeps coming up werewolves and vampires. I like the idea of having a craving/hunger that drives a person mad and makes them a monster, but I don't want to write cliche vampire or werewolf fiction. Any ideas?

Me neither. That's why I don't write things, because I just do not work that way.
As I said, I really do hope something strikes you from one of the prompts. I can't really imagine how frustrating writer's block (or any creative block) must be. Good luck!

As for my icon, it's from a Junji Ito manga. He does a lot of J-Horror or J-WTF stuff.

Though cliche at this point, the Wendigo myths do fit the bill rather well.
I was also looking at some of the Japanese ghosts and all. The spirits called Jikininki might give some guidance. They're kind of like ghouls but with a certain self-awareness/repulsion that goes with them.
Then there's Ikiryo which is when a living person is so bent on revenge/hate they actually separate a piece of their soul from themselves to enact revenge/etc. Like a living ghost, but not.

I know there are a lot of obsession/hunger myths out there, and I know I know a lot of them, but for the life of me I'm not coming up with any. It's kind of irritating.

Anyway, if more things surface I'll pipe up. Otherwise, best of luck.
(Oh! One thing, kind of, people becoming animals because of their personality. Like if you saw the movie Spirited Away, people turn into pigs because they gobble down so much food [granted, it's enchanted food but still])

My poking around has been in the slightly less esoteric reaches of monsterdom. Checking out other forms of vampire lore, and there's one that infects children with a wasting disease (Acheri) and one that's old and ugly but seduces you, fucks you to death and becomes young and beautiful again. (Very weird name that also starts with 'A'. I'm thinking some hybrid kind of monster that infects you (don't know the method of infection, yet) and causes you to need sex all the time. LOL. I know that's just a fuck or die cliche, but we're talking erotica, here, so there are worse scenarios. I just need to work out method of infection and whether there's any sort of power associated with the infection. See, if the infection is just airborne, then I think you'd end up with situation where everyone was infected and fucking each other to death. (Perhaps it's a post apoc fic, and that's where everyone else is, fucked to death. LOL.) I like the angst factor or one person being infected and the other trying to save him, but I don't want them abstaining for the entire length of the story, so they have to be in proximity without fear of spreading the virus. You know, in vampire lore, the vamps can feed without creating another vampire, so I need something equivalent, a way that the two main characters can sex it up without fear of infecting the one who's not already infected. Does that even make sense? I'm obviously going on no sleep here. I'd kinda like for one character to be infected, and the other character to help him keep it a secret, meanwhile both of them being drained and worn down. Hmmm, maybe if they both die at the same time, the curse is broken. They become soul mates. LOL. Love saves the day. Oh, the cliches.


Okay, now I'm just confusing everyone, so I'll go back to my crooked little handwriting in my sad little notebook until I figure out what I'm actually trying to do.

There was this one hentai manga I was reading once, a few years ago now, that was kind of morbid and beautiful. I wonder if I could track it now.

Anyway, a young man got caught out on a mountain during a blizzard and he finds this house by chance. When he goes in/knocks on the door, he finds a woman lives in the house. She's really beautiful and he's all WOW. She and he kind of hit it off and they have sex...and more sex and more (hentai manga and all).
And it's revealed that the woman is a Yuki-onna (Snow Woman) who normally kills people trapped in blizzards. She either leads them further astray, or just freezes them. But this man she lets live. Except she says she loves him and wants him to stay forever and he has a wife/girlfriend but the more sex they have (or, the more contact at least) the more his mind blanks out.
You might enjoy reading it, it's a quick read. Keeping in mind it's an erotic graphic novel.
Well, whether you have any interest in reading it (if I track it down or not) I will be trying to find it.

But it got me thinking on if one of the boys was infected/cursed to be like this Yuki-onna and how it would be such a sad/sweet story if one tried to save the other from the curse but the cursed one slowly wiped his mind clean (not purposefully, but -because- he loved him). Though it would be nice for a more traditionally happy ending.

Sorry, I'm babbling and I don't even have the excuse of little sleep. Also, your last sentence in your above comment is fangasmic. I approve.

Wow, I like that. I was thinking the one who's not infected is some kind of scientist or something and thinks he can beat the curse if he has enough time, so he 'feeds' the infected one with lots and lots of sex, but never lets it go too far (maybe it's about orgasm denial, I dunno). If he was actually losing part of himself and not realizing it, that would be an amazing twist, especially if it's his point of view. And what if the one he's trying to save is not only being sustained through the sex but is absorbing the parts of the other that he doesn't realize he's losing. (Fumble with those pronouns, LOL.) Through some sort of cataclysmic sex, the lost and the found merge together on another plane of existence, and they become superhuman soulmates, saving each other. LOL. Your brain teasing is working.
