I dunno why I feel the urge to update. Just seems like the thing to do, even though I have nothing to report.

I joined a new running group. It starts next weekend. I'm pretty excited about it, but a little sad to leave my other group. But when I joined my first running group, it was the only one around, and the one I just joined is the one I had wished was in my city at the time but wasn't. I'm a little nervous about new people and whatnot, but I'll get over it. Plus they have swimming lessons. Yay! Of course, I don't own a suit, but I always wanted to learn how to swim with some kind of form so I could do it for exercise and not just fun.

I'm actually excited about writing something. Not exactly the gay pirate steampunk soul stealing angels thing, but on the same track. Not Sam and Dean or Jensen and Jared, though. But they will be starring in my mind.

I've started seeing coyotes while I'm running at 2 a.m. They usually run away. I'm more worried about deer and wild hogs.

Of course, now there are June bugs, which are the worst thing to run into ever.

I just looked out my window a few days ago and said, "the trees are starting to bud out." Today I looked out, and the world is fully shaded again. I think I would've been able to hear the leaves sprouting if I'd sat out on my porch and listened.

Oh, and

Did not take any pain medication for my period at all this month, almost no cramps at all. I use a cup for plenty of reasons, but I never believed the people who said it alleviated their cramps. I now stand corrected. Could very well be psychosomatic, but I don't think it matters.

I actually have no idea what a June bug is, I guess I'd better hit google.

Coyotes are pretty exciting in my book, so would the deer be - if I was out and about at that time of night the most exotic wildlife I'd see would be hedgehog (assuming they're even out of hibernation yet), but more than likely it would be a rat ... There really isn't much in the way of wildlife on this island that isn't a rabbit, or doesn't have wings. Tragic, I know.

Yay for getting your writing mojo back, even if the boys aren't in it it's good to feel inspired, yes?

And, yay for no cramps...

The coyotes we have around here are pretty cowardly. I assume it's because there is no shortage of rabbits and cats to keep them fed... I hear they can be pretty aggressive in other states, and you never know when you're encountering the one with a bad leg who can't catch a rabbit and is dying of starvation. Haha, I think I'm trying to scare myself.

As for writing, I wouldn't say the boys aren't in it, because I still picture them as Jensen and Jared in my head. I even considered writing it as crossover or AU for one of the bigbangs, but no. I need to just stop doing that. I have signed up for novel_bigbang, but they don't start posting until September, and the ones that have been posted there in previous years got almost no comments. I don't see the point of holding a story hostage for most of a year so that I can post it with art and get no comments. Hopefully I'll finish it and have sent to a publisher before then, but then, it seems to be stalling at the moment.

The cramps thing surprised me. I really don't see how it's possible, but it does seem to help.

You go girl! Change is scary but worth it. I'm sure you will get so much from this new running group and YAY swimming lessons, awesome! I love swimming, but as I have been such a fat ass for a long time I haven't done it in years for the embarrassment factor. Though now that I'm taking my health and weight seriously and have shred (edit: LOL was that a little Freudian) just over 10kg in the last 3 1/2 wks I'm feeling like swimming will again be in my near future. Though I want to lose at least another 10 to 15kg before I get into a pair of togs but its all good, I'll get there. Best I've felt in well over a decade.

YAY for writing inspiration! Though I would be happy to see the gay pirate steampunk soul stealing angels thing too, anything that is inspiring you to write is a good thing. :D

I get to see dingoes fairly often in the late afternoons around were I live. Haven't seen any since Yasi came to visit though, I'm sure that will make the council happy! :(

No June bugs, but man the mosquitoes could just about carry you away. Evil little bastards. Poor old VIC have plagues of locust at the moment to go with the putrid stagnant water left from the flooding. Poor buggers, just horrible. Up here it has been WET, WET, WET, and no the band hasn't reformed just pouring rain instead that is driving my f*@king NUTS! Though everything is vibrant green and beautiful, until you step off the pavement then you sink into the stinking mud, yuck!

How cool is that as a side benefit of the cup, I never knew that could be side benefit! I have looked into it and I am almost convinced to give it a go. Many benefits, and this extra one is definitely another tick in the cons, even if it is psychosomatic. Who cares what causes it so long as they are gone! :D

Good to hear from you again and I look forward to hearing how the new running group goes. Oh and good luck with your inspired muse, I hope it settles in for a long comfy visit! :D

Go you! I've seen you comment a couple of times now about your weight loss, and this is the first chance I've had to reply. That's amazing, especially if you do it the right way, with diet and exercise. So many people give up before they see any noticeable change, but once you do see the changes and realize how good you feel, it's almost addicting. Okay, who am I kidding, it is an addiction. But one evil for another, right? I'm so excited for you, and you know you can always hit me up when you're needing support or advice.

I'm excited about the steampunk boys, too. This story is so complex, and I've switched angles on it about five times already. I know the story. I know how it begins and ends, but finding the best way to tell it kinda dictates how to approach the middle. Ah, many a story dies before it ever has a middle. *clings to story*

We're in a drought here. I'll trade you june bugs and dry air for some rain. LOL.

I'm not sure why I had such mild cramps this time. It was my third round with the cup. It could very well be that I had heard the cramps might decrease and so I waited longer than I normally would before I reached for the pain pills. I usually just know it's going to be bad and try to head them off. This time I decided to wait and didn't ever really feel like I needed the pills. So, I imagine it's a combination of things, but other people have reported similar results, so there might be something to it.

I'm loving the new group so far. Have had a lot of my friends from the old group ask me about it, so I think there might be some familiar faces there eventually. Best part is they have more than one run a week, so if my work interferes, I have more chance of catching one or another.

I may be biased, but I think everyone should at least research the cup and give it a try. Better for the earth, better for your purse, better for your body. Of course, nothing works for everybody. *glomps*

I work nights, so my routine is usually sleeping all day and being awake all night. In the winter months it's nearly almost dark before I wake up, and in the summer it's smoking hot by then, so the middle of the night is just the best time to get in a run for me, and I don't have to miss sleep trying to wake up early in order to do it in the day. I will admit, though, it took me over a year of being sleep-deprived and sun baked before I finally overcame my fear of running in the dark. I still think I run faster in the dark because of the adrenaline rush I get from imagining everything that's out there to eat me. :P

I don't have bad craps, so it's not a huge deal, but never heard the thing about cups helping that. Iiinteresting.

I had heard it, but didn't know how it could be true. As I said in a comment upthread, it could just be that I didn't take meds and found out I didn't need them whereas I used to take meds prophylactically to avoid the pain. But I'm sure at least some people who claim they aid in preventing cramps might be on to something. And it certainly can't hurt if they do. :D
