Keeping it in the family...

My cousin, Jo, has been training with Team in Training to run the New Orleans Mardi Gras Rock and Roll Half Marathon. She's the one who inspired me to train for a charity.

At the moment, she's having trouble meeting her fundraising goal of $3800.00. If she doesn't raise the rest of the money in the next month, she will be asked to make up the difference herself or withdraw from the race after she's been training for months through a snowy Wisconsin winter.

Here's her fundraising page. If you have a minute and a dime, pop on in. It supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Hee! I made it home, but I got dehydrated. :/ Need to buy one of those butt ugly hydration belts this weekend.

Have to lose the extra person first though so I don't hurt myself. They are doing a half marathon in my area, so maybe that goal can be attainable.

How long til the half marathon? I just sent someone a whole bunch of helpful links on working up to that distance the other day. I'd be more than willing to forward it all to ya.

I think it's sometime this spring or summer. But even if I don't enter, I'd still like to be able to go back to running. I just know I have my work cut out for me since I'm carrying around 100+ pounds of extra weight and a spine that's not really stable for running. Gotta love genetic diseases, huh? lol

I'm so not above taking tips and pointers though. Did you see the study that came out this week? I think it was in Nature. Nice study about running barefoot or nearly so and it made me think of you. :)

Fireman fic is in the queue...along with pregnant Jensen and last years Big Bang fic that I told myself to try to finish for this years BB. But it's there! I promise...LOL.
