Several more Degrees of Jensen Ackles
Mar. 21st, 2011 07:58 pmWatching KyleXY now.
So far, there's Cory Monteith, who was in Wendigo, I think.
Guy Bee directed an episode in Season One.
Season 2 Episode 7 is called "Free to Be You and Me."
And Martin Cummins aka Ames White in Dark Angel (coincidentally the other half of the Alec/Ames pairing fic I just read after not having read long fic in ages) was in several episodes.
And not so much a Jensen connection, but even though the music in Kyle XY mostly sucks, they just played a song that was also in Bones and that I have in my Bones soundtrack folder.
Now I'm reminded of Latter Days, about all the things that look like random dots up close but make a bigger picture when you step away.
Gay Steampunk Angel Soul Pirates... yeah.

Date: 2011-03-22 09:48 am (UTC)Hee, hee, I associate so much back to anything even remotely Jensen related now! Drives my hubby nuts! His standard response is...'and why would I can if this random actor was in an episode of (insert Jensen show).' My standard response...''cause Jensen was in that too, that's cool.' [insert incredulous stare from hubby] 'ah, no it isn't.' :P
Jealous much! LOL! :P

Date: 2011-04-05 12:13 am (UTC)KyleXY is... Um, well, it's cheesy, and the characters are teenagers, and most of them are sexually active, but it was on the ABC Family channel, so it's not exactly like 90210 with a sci fi twist. There is some typical high school drama/angst, but the mythology of the show is fairly good. Or maybe I'm just swayed because Martin Cummins was involved in that quite a bit. LOL. Some things about it just make me roll my eyes, like Kyle's attraction to the stereotypical blond Barbie doll that lives next door. But don't let that turn you off, it does get better. The worst thing about the show is that it ends on a cliffhanger and after they'd set up quite a few storylines that I was interested in seeing played out. But I knew this going in, so it didn't bother me too much. Matt Dallas, who plays Kyle has amazing eyes, so even when the story was bad, he was good. I'd say watch it if you want some of your old Dark Angel nostalgia to kick in, and if you ever saw a movie called D.A.R.Y.L. because the mythology contains elements of both that I really liked. I'd say it's worth spending a week being entertained by watching the epis marathon style on Netflix. Not sure I'd have this same outlook if I'd tried to follow it when it actually aired, though.
