DVR fail

Hmm, I have my DVR set to record SPN as a series, so all new episodes. It has been working just fine, but it didn't record last night. I wasn't planning to watch it, but I always check that it's there in case some day I am inclined to do a catch up. I saw someone else post that their TiVo didn't record it because it thought it recorded it last week. Anyone else have that happen?

That's exactly why I set it individually every week. Man, that sucks. Even if you weren't planning to watch it.

I guess modern technology isn't as smart as we think it is. ;o)

LOL. I know. I kinda liked that it was always recording, then I felt like super woman for having the willpower not to watch it. (Which, really shouldn't be that hard since when I do watch it always puts me in a foul, foul mood, but addictions are hard to break.) Somehow, not having it there, just in case, is worrisome. Not that there aren't a million other ways to get it. I'm putting it on my walkman right this second, lol. But still...

We were watching something on dvd and I just happened to catch sight of the fact that the "record" light didn't go on at 9:00. I don't usually pay attention. I'd checked earlier in the day and the dvr had both Supernatural and CSI:NY listed on the scheduled to record list, so I hadn't really given it another thought.

But when the recording light didn't go on I paused the dvd, switched over to cable and checked, and SPN wasn't on the scheduled list, or on the recorded list, so I did a manual recording. All before the clock ticked over to 9:01. I have no idea why I even paid attention, but if I hadn't done, it wouldn't have recorded.

The dvr has SPN on series recording schedule for next week. I hope it picks it up this time. It recorded Nikita last week in the time slot, b/c comcast didn't have time to rejigger their schedule and the dvr read the info off the comcast schedule and dutifully recorded what it said was airing. Pfeh. Technology. We did better with a rock and chisel.

I vaguely remember looking over last week and seeing that it was accidentally recording Nikita, and then turning it off. I didn't even think about the repercussions of that. But you sound like Speedy Fingers over. LOL.
