Random hedgehog sighting...

Being laid up with the Plague means watching a lot of television, or at least, having the television on to watch me try to cough up a lung. So, I've had Animal Planet on a good bit in the last 24 hours.

On Animal Planet, they have this thing where viewers can send in a picture of their pets and have the picture posted in the corner of the screen.

For the last day, the viewer pet has been a hedgehog named, and I squinted really hard to make sure I was reading this right... WINCESTON.

So, no I have to know, where is the hedgehog posting SPN fangirl who sent that in? Surely no one spells Winston like that? Haha, either way, it's given me a little giggle (which then deteriorates into a choking, gagging, couging fit, but whatever) every time I see it.

How's that for random?

Still sick, BTW. Over a week. I wasn't even sick this long when my tooth was abscessed. I think I'm getting a nice six pack, though, because my stomach hasn't stopped hurting for days now. :/

Wrote some words yesterday, and that's all I have to show for my whole weekend off. Back to work tomorrow. I hope I can at least talk by then.

ETA: What's with all the meta posts about crossposting from DW and whatnot? The more of those posts I see, the more I wish I never got a DW account at all. Talk about browbeating. Bleh.

I've been seeing those DW posts... Sounds like people are being brow-beaten for not abandonning LJ for the fresher fields of DW. I've never once posted over there. Probably won't. You know what'll convince me of that? Someone telling me I'd better do it. Seriously!

LOL.I'm positive about that hedgehog. If it'd only turned up once, I'd have convinced myself it was a hallucination, but it's been up a dozen times. I find it amusing, but then, I'm rather easy to amuse.

And word on the DW thing. I've only ever posted there when I wanted to add a lot of code to posts that would make it longer than an LJ post allows, and then I've always directed comments back here. I have no interest in moving there full time. Never did.

Also re: DW... you see that last post of mine I'm not allowing comments on? That's all because of frikken DW crap. And what makes it even worse - the person who's deFriended me over this shit, I've known them online for 16 years, IRL for 15 years, they've shared my life, my family, my home, my cat, my BED! And this is what they deFriend me over. (I made a post titled "Gah" a coupla days ago... the ex who has now deF'd me is in there - reddragdiva) I cannot frikken believe it. I wasn't angry over the whole thing to begin with, but you bet I bloody well am now!

Er, and when I saw your post this morning, I scrolled back through your journal, and I kinda figured it was that post that caused the kerfluffle. But seriously, it's going overboard lately. Half of the metafandom posts are about it. There's secrets on fandomsecrets about it. Read the dean_sam flist and see at least two or three posts a day about it. Why does it matter to anyone whether we like LJ enough to stay or don't dislike it enough to leave? I have a DW account which I only use for posting exorbitantly long posts, because they have a larger character limit, but I've never directed anyone over there without giving them a direct link back here.

I guess it's just hard to be elitist if you have no one to be elite over, so now they're getting pissy that they've got no noobs over there to look down their noses at. Anyway, that's just how those posts come off to me. I'll keep my DW account, because it's under my penname, and you never know when you'll need to have a writer blog, but I don't even go over there now. It's stupid that someone would defriend you over blogosphere BS.

LOL, alas, I've never owned a hedgehog, and I daresay that spelling is more creative than I could've come up with. LOL. Though, I'd most definitely adopt that critter if it happened my way. :D
