Internet Woes...

So, I spent all day thinking LJ was down. Then I was chatting with Tracer, and it worked just fine for her, and I was like...huh, cuz ONLY LJ was not working.

I've tried everything. Turned off my firewalls, rebooted, updated my browsers, got new browsers, nothing will allow me to access LJ. I sometimes can open my flist on the first try, but if I try to click on a link from there, all I get is error messages.

This post window finally came up, after about four hours of fiddling. I have no idea if it's fixed or not. In all likelihood, when I hit post, it will give me an error message... *bangs head*

But if it does post, either A)at least y'all will know I'm not ignoring you on purpose and I'll not be able to post again, or B)the problem is fixed, and I'll delete this worthless post.

And there are about five birthdays I'm missing by not getting online. I think I might cry.

And I so had stuff to say... *sob*

Have you tried clearing your browsing history and cache? Sometimes if you do that it solves the problem.

I tried everything. On occasion, I'd get it to open the window if I emptied my cache and hit refresh, but that only worked once or twice and after that, nothing. But as you can see, I'm replying to this comment, so it was an LJ problem, and hopefully it will stay fixed. Cuz man was I askeered.

Guh, I hate having these problems... *sigh*
If it's any comfort, at least it's just LJ. I've been having internet problems for the past 3 weeks (!!!!!!) and there are DAYS where I don't get internet at all, which is just... *whimpers*

Well, it turned out to be an LJ issue and it fixed itself. If LJ was down, I'd be okay, cuz I wouldn't be missing anything, but knowing it wasn't down and I just couldn't read anything made me sad.

I really hope you get yours figured out soon, cuz that has to be miserable.

Ugh, took all night, but I guess it was an LJ problem and it's fixed now... *knocks on wood* I was starting to panic!!!! *has white knuckles*

It's probably not a problem on your computer if you're getting page load errors that you can refresh your way out of. It's either your internet provider's DNS server, of if you have a router it may be a conflict between that and the DNS. You can try resetting the router or the modem to see if that helps. If not, the last resort is to change your DNS manually to a public domain and see if it'll work then...

Turned out it was an LJ problem. I could only get to it from outside links, and then I could open about two links within LJ, and then nothing but error messages. Sometimes if I dumped my cache and hit refresh it would open, sometimes not. Mostly not. I managed to stumble my way blindly onto an LJ support thingie, and when I posted my support request, I saw there were about three other requests with the exact same issue. Sooooooo, I hoped it was an LJ issue and spent all night crying over Youtube videos. LOL. And now it seems to be working fine.

LOL glad to hear it ended up being an LJ issue. When I had that problem, it was my router and it didn't go away until I got a new one. Drove me crazy in the meantime...

I know. I was already thinking what kind of money I was gonna have to spend, since nothing worked to fix it, but I was holding out hope it was only LJ, since I was only having the problem on LJ. Turned out it was, and I should've just chilled to begin with.
