Yes, you rinse it and use a little disinfectant soap between insertions (although if you're in a public bathroom can totally just wipe it clean with tissue or bring a bottle of water for rinsing) and then boil it or clean with rubbing alcohol between cycles. They say they can last up to ten years, and I haven't read any horror stories about UTIs, which would definitely concern me, as I seem to be prone to them.
