Free Will vs. Destiny... Huh.

Destiny says the boys were only ever born to be vessels.

Free will says they have to choose to be vessels.

John could be Michael's vessel because of his blood, which is Dean's blood... which is Sam's blood... which is Dean's blood.

So, Dean exercises his free will by saying yes... to Lucifer. And Sam says yes to Michael.

I think, in a pinch, the archangels would be able to take either one, and it would come down to which one said yes. I think Dean would say yes to keep Sam from saying it, and vice versa.

Unfortunately, while I can see that throwing a wrench in the works and definitely giving the boys the element of surprise, I'm not really sure how things would play out from there. I'm still hung up on Alistair saying Dean left part of himself in Hell, especially now that Famine mentioned it as well. Not so much surprised that he'd be missing part of himself, I mean, it was Hell, but moreso curious about why Alistair wanted him to have it back... My thinking is that Azazel's blood only served to give Sam a taste of power so that he could be manipulated by the power hunger, and it didn't really change him at all. He and Dean are still the same bloodline. Likewise, I think the Dean who tortured souls in Hell tasted that same power and could be manipulated the same way if he still had the taste for it. I'm just not sure why he doesn't except that his guilt outweighs it. *shrugs*

I'd totally write this as fic if A)I didn't have twenty other fics on the ol' desktop and B) had any idea how that would play out. Maybe someday I'll make it original fiction. LOL. Can't write porns forever, right?

I usually avoid any kind of speculation like this because I prefer to just go with the flow and let the show take me where it will, but your post reminded me of a question I had after 5.13 and so I thought I'd ask your opinion. :o)

So here goes. Stupid question (and I haven't thought it through, so excuse the logic fail): But if the vessels for archangels (even temporary ones like John was for Michael) are in the same blood line, how does that explain why Nick can be a vessel for Lucifer?

But I think Sam's demon blood is connected to being the better vessel for Lucifer, right?

That's a very interesting point.

I guess they are part of the same bloodline but one is there to serve the Good and the other one to serve the Evil.

I think that whatever the boys will do, the outcome won't be easi to be handled.

I've been hoping for this for forever it seems. It would be awesome. We've had nothing but OMG SAM WILL BE THE DEVIL forever. If it happens it's so... boring. :/

And why not? Perfectly lovely porns.
