I'm not sure what steampunk is, but I've seen enough really awesome jewelry on Etsy to want to find out. Who knew I had a thing for old watch parts?

Also, I think I'm addicted to white eyeliner. I think it has something to do with my doll collecting days and big dewy doll eyes. I really am a freak.

Not as freaky as this, though. LOL. (It's a doll, and she's not nude.)

That's odd, we've been discussing steampunk and it's origin in one of my COM classes. It's a fandom that isn't connected to any one text (i.e. book, movie, or TV show). It's a combination of Victorian fashion and steam-powered technology where the fan's imagination is the only limit. Here's (http://www.epbot.com/2010/09/dragoncon-steampunk-gallery.html) an example.

I guess I'm also a colored goggles aficionado. LOL. I dunno why this stuff should intrigue me, but it does. Is A Clockwork Orange considered steampunk, because I've seen it referenced a couple of times. I might have to read it to see how it works in fiction.

Here's an awesome store on Etsy.

Of course, that stuff is waaaaaay expensive, but I'd totally wear it.

I think it's more that the steampunk fandom has adapted Clockwork Orange for use in their fandom, as steampunk didn't start until I think it was the 90s (I'd have to check my class notes to be sure).

I have to admit that I found some steampunk costumes and jewelry last year that I liked, but it does tend to be expensive. Thanks for the link!

Haha, and I just noticed that your icon reminds me of that doll pic. LOL.

Steampunk has totally been a fascination of mine recently. All the gears and the shiny and the ticky and and and

*cough* I also adore these (http://monsterkookies.deviantart.com/gallery/9394566).

...that doll is going to give me nightmares...

D'oh! Those are too cute. AND there's an Etsy store, too. *snickers* Hubby already thinks I have something going with the mailman because I order so much stuff online. What's a few more trinkets, LOL?

I've always kinda wondered what steampunk is myself. It seems there are a lot of YA novels in that genre.

And dolls are creepy.

Haha, is it sad that I think I could get into it just for the fashion? Seriously, though, I find all kinds of steampunk jewelry and costumes, but still have no idea what the culture is, as in, what is the anthropological morphology of steampunk?

LOL, can you tell I've been marathoning Bones?
